NEON Youth Ministry
The youth of the Pittwater area are facing a variety of challenges and changes in their lives. They are undergoing a radical shift in their self-identity. They are facing pressures at school, home and from the media. Their peer group is playing an increasingly important role in their life.
Our new youth ministry called NEON Youth is a combined ministry with the parishes of Avalon and Newport and is a place where the youth of Pittwater can come and find answers to the big questions of life by hearing God's answers in the Scriptures. They can meet other similar-aged Christians who have given their lives to follow Jesus. They will have another voice to help them navigate through into young adulthood laying down a solid foundation for their future lives.
As with the other children's programs, leaders of the NEON youth ministry must also meet the requirements of having done Safe Ministry Training along with holding a current Working With Children Check clearance, although this age group probably don't think of themselves as 'children'!
