Funerals
The loss of a family member is always a time of great grief. We count it a privilege to be invited to be part of the farewell and ongoing grieving process.
Our Ministry Team conducts funerals for anyone in the local area who requests an Anglican Funeral Service. Funerals are usually conducted in our church building, families are invited to contact us on 9999 2062. The minister will arrange with families a time to meet and reflect together on the nature and content of the Service.
Many families ask for an order of service to be produced and printed. We can offer that facility as part of what we do. Often families ask for professionally printed orders of service, but we do ask that the ministry staff be consulted about the contents of printed material.
The Service itself reflects the truth that Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead, and that our hope rests upon his gift of eternal life to everyone who believes in him. The components of the Service will include Christian hymns, prayers, Bible readings and an address explaining the promises of God in providing us a home in heaven with him. A eulogy will normally be given by a member of the family or close friend, and we also have the facilities for a short pictorial presentation if required (longer presentations are more appropriate at the gathering after the formal service).
The Service in the church building may be followed by a committal at a Cemetery or Crematorium. Many families request that the entire funeral be conducted in the church building.
We are also able to provide a musician to play, and families are asked to inform the Funeral Director if this is required. If recorded music is preferred, the Funeral Director can provide suggestions, but we do ask for music that reflects a Christian ethos.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide for functions after the Funeral Service since our facilities are utilised daily.
From time to time families ask for our ministry team to conduct funerals at Funeral Chapels and/or the Crematorium. We are available to conduct such services but prefer to utilise our own church building.
Please ring us on 9999 2062 and speak to one of our ministry staff if we can be of assistance to you in this most difficult time.

The Memorial Wall (Columbarium)
Mona Vale Anglican provides the opportunity to remember and honour departed loved ones by placing their ashes in a memorial wall. The wall is located on the southeast side of the church building opposite the memorial garden and is maintained by the staff at Mona Vale Anglican.
Niches
The openings in the wall are designed to accommodate a brick size container as supplied by the Crematorium. The person applying for a niche must ask the people at the Crematorium to return the ashes in a brick size container suitable for placing in the memorial wall.
Fee
The applicant may select a niche from those available and on payment of the prescribed amount will be issued with a Certificate of Granted Permission, which will certify the designated number of the niche and the name of the person to be memorialised. The Certificate of Granted Permission will need to be signed by the grantee. One of the churchwardens or their authorised representative will also sign to complete the document. The church office, as a record of the entitlement, retains a duplicate copy of the Certificate of Granted Permission. Entitlement for the use of niches is not transferable, but a refund will be paid to the grantee if a reservation is cancelled.
